September
1, 2000 marked the beginning of the new Albert Pike Home Page.
Some parts of the website have been under construction for
some time; however, Webmeister Dad Rodriguez and Dad McCracken
have been hard at work improving the website, including a
new version of the online calendar as well as a new Discussion
Forum.
The Online Calendar is in the format of an actual calendar,
and events are on the days. If you wish to learn about a future
event, click on the day, and you'll receive the information
about it. It also highlights today's date, so you aren't wondering
when you have to memorize your Ritual!
Yet, the best improvement to the website is the new Discussion
Forum, where DeMolays, Job's Daughters, Rainbow Girls, and
Masons can leave opinions on certain topics, or start one
of their choosing. One of the topics is for leaving feedback
on our new website. All the return posts are positive so far,
and showed great enthusiasm.
Doug Van Griner said, ÒWebmeister, you da man. The site looks
awesome and I like the new additions.Ó We even had a return
from the exiled guy, Brother Robert Herbig. I also mentioned
I liked the new additions and would add more stuff later on,
then just a few minutes later, posted it again as a joke.
Also, the officers section is improved in the fact that Brother
Pat Crocker, after a record run of two years, is no longer
listed as a state officer (sorry!) and that Brother Doug Van
Griner is our new State Illustrious Knight Commander. And,
Brother Robert Herbig is (for now) still our Senior Councilor.
But, most of the other sections have remained the same.
All in all, I think the new Discussion Forum will get the
popularity it deserves. The new website already does. Thanks
Dad Rodriguez and Dad McCracken!
