El Paso Lodge No. 130
150th Anniversary

El Paso Lodge 130 AF & AM celebrated it’s 150 year Anniversary on January 31st 2004.
WM Ray MacDonald opened the Lodge at 1505 Magruder with MW Reese L. Harrison, Jr., in attendance. 
The Grand Master presented 50 year pins to two Brothers James V Gorman and
Eddie C. Wilkerson. A banquet followed at El Maida Shrine Center where Mr. Leon Metz, a noted
El Paso Historian and writer, related the history of El Paso Lodge 130 AF & AM
to the City of El Paso in the 1800’s. After Mr. Metz’s speech he presented an autographed book
to Grand Master Harrison entitled “El Paso”. El Paso Lodge 130 AF & AM was chartered on
January 21, 1854 after the request for charter was carried by horse back to San Antonio
for presentation to the Grand Lodge in 1853.
