NAME
OF CHAPTER
This Chapter, under Charter from DeMolay International
known as Albert Pike Chapter No. 58 of the Order of
DeMolay, shall be governed first by the By-laws and
Rules and Regulations of DeMolay International and
second, by the following by-laws:
ARTICLE
I.
Meetings
Section
1. The stated meetings of the Chapter shall
be held in the chapter Room in the Scottish Rite
Cathedral each Monday evening at 7:30 PM. If a
stated meeting shall fall on any legal holiday
or on a date when the Scottish Rite Cathedral is
closed, no meeting will be held.
ARTICLE
II.
Term of Office
Section
1. The Master Councilor, Senior Councilor and Junior
Councilor of the Chapter shall be elected every four
months, on the second Monday of January, May and September.
Section
2. The Treasurer shall be elected by the Advisory
Council on the Second Monday of January annually,
and shall serve for the ensuing year, and shall be
installed at the February Installation annually.
A Senior DeMolay, holding a Senior DeMolay Certificate,
may be elected as Treasurer.
Section
3. The
Scribe shall be appointed by the Advisory Council
and shall serve, at the pleasure of the Advisory
Council, until his successor is appointed and installed.
A Senior DeMolay, holding a Senior DeMolay Certificate
may be appointed as Scribe.
ARTICLE
III.
Fees
Section
1. The Initiation Fee and Life Membership for
the Degrees in this Chapter shall be $100.00 and
shall be payable before Initiation. This fee and
the life membership shall cover the members’ Chapter
dues, DeMolay International Fee, Texas State DeMolay
Association’s per-capita fee and the cost
of insurance to age 21.
Section 2. The fee for affiliation in this chapter shall be $10.00
plus $10.00 per year immediately after affiliation (pro-rated) until
the member reaches the age of 21.
ARTICLE
IV.
Representative DeMolay Requirement
A member must have attained the Representative DeMolay
award before being eligible for election to the station
of Master Councilor.

V.
Rules of Order
Section
1. Robert’s Rules of Order shall
serve to govern in all cases not covered by the
DeMolay International By-laws and Rules and Regulations
and Chapter Regulations.

Concerning Adoption of Prior Sets of Bylaws
of Albert Pike Chapter No. 58
- By-laws
approved by Alva Bryan, Deputy and Executive Officer
in Texas and dated December 27, 1935.
- By-laws
amended which are undated.
- By-laws
approved by H. Malvern Marks, Active Member and
Executive Officer in Texas and dated February
29, 1960.
- By-laws
appear to have been amended but no date is reflected
except that the Executive Officer H. Malvern Marks
approved them on February 29, 1960. It appears
that when these By-laws were published the same
previous date of approval by Dad Marks was used
for this change as in the previous amendment.
- An
outline explaining why changes were made to the
By-laws was made by Reese L. Harrison, Jr., PGM & Executive
Officer in Texas. This outline is undated.
- A Resolution
to change the By-laws by Mark E. Williams, who
was Senior Councilor of the Chapter, was adopted
by the Chapter on September 7, 1992.
- By-laws
proposed November 13, 2005 in accordance with Article
11, Section 311.9(a)(b) to conform to Appendix A-4
of the Rules and Regulations of DeMolay International
and approved by unanimous vote of the Chapter members
present on June 19, 2006, after reflection, consideration
and discussion at stated meetings in December 2005,
and January 2006.
