Follow
these steps to become a member of Albert Pike Chapter:
- Attend a Rush
Party (not required, but we would like to meet you and explain
what DeMolay is all about. Check the FAQ
and the About
section for details. Dates for the next Rush Party can be
found in the Term Calendar
and the Online Calendar).
- Submit your membership
application (below) and wait for the members to approve
your petition. This usually takes about two weeks.
- Show up for the
initiation! (wearing red
socks please - an Albert Pike Chapter tradition)
Initiations are held
as often as necessary.
There
are only a few requirements for membership in the Order of DeMolay.
You must:
- be between the
ages of 13 and 21
- be male (this
is a fraternity)
- believe in a Supreme
Being
- be of good character.
That's it!
Our petition

Frequently
Asked Questions
How
much does it cost to join?
The
fee of $100.00 is a lifetime membership fee. There are no
yearly dues or fees.
What should I expect at my Initiation?
The initiation ceremony will be a memorable evening for
you and your family. Unlike other fraternities you may hear
about, there is no horseplay or "hazing" involved
in a DeMolay intiation.
Can my parents attend the Rush Party and Initiation?
Yes, indeed. Both of your parents and any other family
members are most welcome to come to our Rush Parties. However,
for your Initiation it is appropriate only for your mother
and father to be in attendance as well as any of your relatives
who may have a Masonic background.
Is DeMolay a secret organization?
DeMolay does have its particular signs and words which
are not supposed to be shared with anyone who is not a DeMolay.
Our organization, however, is far from secret, and we have
many public ceremonies.
Does my father have to be a Master Mason?
No, not at all. Many of our members have no Masons in their
families and DeMolay is in no way considered a "Junior
Masons" organization. We require no Masonic connection
for membership in our Order.
Will DeMolay conflict with my school and church activities?
DeMolays are encouraged to place education and family
before attendance at our meetings. Our teachings and activities
will in no way conflict with those of your church and school.
There are no required activities associated with your membership
in DeMolay.
