Albert
Pike Chapter was instituted on June 30, 1921 and was granted
Charter No. 58 on April 15, 1922. Albert Pike is now the
oldest continuously operating Chapter in Texas, is the third
largest Chapter in Texas, and is consistently listed as one
of the largest Chapters in the
United States. The Chapter celebrated its 80th Anniversary
in 2001 with a two-day extravaganza attended by many generations
of its members.
The
members of Albert Pike Chapter come from all parts of the greater
San Antonio area and other parts of South Texas. In recent years,
our members have brought home top honors from state-wide competitions
in athletics and Ritual (the memory work of the Order). Our
members are also renowned for their oratorical performances
at the annual Texas DeMolay Government Day in Austin, traditionally
claiming several awards each year based on their public speaking
skills.
There
is a long and rich history associated with Albert Pike Chapter.
Our traditions have been passed along by generation after generation
of young men who have all benefited from their time in DeMolay
and Albert Pike. For a complete written history of the Chapter,
as well as complete listings of the men who have made it all
happen, see the History
section.
