On January 8, 1974, Elmer J. Reese Chapter was authorized to relocate from Blue Bonnet Masonic Lodge No. 1219 to Highland Hills Masonic Lodge No. 1373. The Chapter name was changed from Elmer J. Reese Chapter to Highland Hills Chapter on April 29, 1975.
On April 30, 1983, the then Grand Master of DeMolay merged Elmer J. Reese/Highland Hills Chapter No. 2843 into Albert Pike Chapter No. 58. Members of the Order at their option may designate their Chapter membership by use of the original name, the name it was changed, or the name of the merged Chapter.

Chevaliers of Elmer J. Reese/Highland Hills Chapter were initially and still remain members of the San Antonio Court of Chevaliers which was Authorized January 15, 1968. At the Annual Service of Remembrance in November 1983, Chevaliers of Elmer J. Reese/Highland Hills Chapter No. 2843 were elected to membership by affiliation into the Albert Pike Court of Chevaliers as a result of the April 30, 1983 merger of the Chapter into Albert Pike Chapter No. 58.
